Chatham is the “Summer Home of the Great White Shark” but also home for over 30,000 summer visitors (versus the 6,000 pop. off-season). Swim safely in nearby Hardings or Ridgevale beaches or visit the beautiful ocean beaches for spectacular views:

fall

All the activity of the summer with smaller crowds. This is a great time to enjoy the natural beauty of the Cape, with little traffic and ample parking. Some of our favorite activities:

- Don’t miss the Cranberry Bog tours: The Cape Farm & Cranberry Company in Harwich offers guided tours of their cranberry bog and farm throughout the summer, spring, and fall
Winter

During the chilly winter months you may think you have the Cape all to yourself, but while the crowds may die down, the beauty of the Cape continues and special events abound, including:
- Plymouth and First Encounter Beach history remind us the Cape was the site of the first Thanksgiving
- Christmas Strolls for shopping and meeting Santa
- First Night Chatham– New Year’s – family-friendly, alcohol free, town-wide celebration of the arts with performances and events
spring

Many of the businesses that closed for the winter months re- open, once again making Cape Cod, and Chatham in particular, a bustling destination for shopping, cultural events and dining:
- Shopping: Chatham’s Main Street is where all the action is! Be sure to visit Mayflower and Tale of a Cod for home furnishings, and Chatham Candy Manor and The Cheese Shop for an afternoon pick me up!
